Mumbai, Mar 29: The trailer of Maa Ka Sum, released on March 27, offers a refreshing mix of humour and emotion, presenting a unique take on relationships through the lens of mathematics and logic.
Helmed by Nicholas Kharkongor and written by Ravinder Randhawa and Sumrit Shahi, the series features Mihir Ahuja and Mona Singh in lead roles. Angira Dhar and Ranveer Brar play pivotal characters, adding depth to the narrative. The show is produced by Babita Ashiwal under the banner of Eunoia Films.

The story revolves around Agastya, a 19-year-old math prodigy played by Mihir Ahuja, who believes that even love can be solved like an equation. Determined to find the ideal partner for his single mother Vinita (Mona Singh), he embarks on “Project Mom.” With the help of his professor Ira (Angira Dhar), Agastya attempts to identify the “perfect match” through logic and calculations.
However, his plan begins to unravel when emotions enter the equation. Vinita’s growing connection with Abhimanyu (Ranveer Brar) leads to friction between mother and son, highlighting the limits of logic in matters of the heart.
Blending light-hearted moments with emotional depth, the trailer captures the warmth and complexity of a mother-son relationship. It subtly conveys that while life may be governed by rules and formulas, love often defies them.
Sharing her experience, Mona Singh said Vinita is unlike any role she has played before, describing the story as “warm, honest, and deeply relatable.” Mihir Ahuja noted that beneath Agastya’s brilliance lies a son deeply devoted to his mother, making their bond particularly special.
The eight-episode series will stream on Amazon Prime Video from April 3 in Hindi, with subtitles available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Mona Singh, known for her iconic role in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, continues to showcase versatility with recent appearances in Kohrra and Happy Patel. Meanwhile, Mihir Ahuja is steadily gaining recognition with projects like Shabad.
With its quirky premise and relatable emotions, Maa Ka Sum promises to be a feel-good watch—reminding viewers that while equations may explain life, love rarely follows a formula.
