Drishti Marine lifesavers rescue 18 from drowning along Goa coast

Panaji, Mar 10: Lifeguards of Drishti Marine rescued 18 people from drowning at various beaches along the coast of Goa over the weekend, including a quadruple and a triple rescue operation.

At Arambol Beach, two tourists from West Bengal were rescued after being caught in a rip current, while three teenagers from Bengaluru were brought to safety after entering a red-flagged no-swimming zone.

Four tourists from Kolkata were rescued at Ashwem Beach after venturing into rough waters.

At Baga Beach, two men from Bengaluru were saved from a rip current. Meanwhile, a tourist from Hubballi was rescued at Calangute Beach despite warnings issued by lifeguards.

In another incident at Candolim Beach, a tourist from Germany and two women from Hubballi were rescued after being caught in rip currents.

A shack worker was also saved from drowning at Utorda Beach, while separate rescue operations were carried out at Varca Beach and Agonda Beach after swimmers were caught in strong waves and currents.

Lifeguards have once again urged beachgoers to follow safety warnings and avoid entering the sea in red-flagged zones to prevent accidents.
