Mumbai, Mar 8: Actor Vijay Deverakonda won praise on social media after responding warmly to a young fan who questioned why she had not been invited to his wedding with actress Rashmika Mandanna.
The child had posted a message online asking the actor why fans like her were not invited to the couple’s wedding. “Am I not your fan too? What about us?” she wrote, referring to the private ceremony attended only by close friends and family.

Responding directly to the post, Deverakonda wrote an affectionate reply in Telugu and invited the child to his home for lunch.
“Precious child, I will invite you home for lunch. Tell me your favourite food and sweets. We will get it cooked at home and eat happily,” the actor wrote in his message.
The response quickly went viral, with many social media users sharing screenshots of the exchange and praising the actor for his gesture.
Deverakonda and Mandanna were married on February 26 in Udaipur in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family members. The couple had earlier held a private engagement in October last year.
They later hosted a reception in Hyderabad on March 4. Mandanna wore a traditional red and gold saree with jewellery and sindoor, while Deverakonda appeared in a cream-coloured kurta and dhoti.
Following their wedding, the couple also organised the distribution of sweets across several cities in India as part of the celebrations. Trucks carrying sweets were sent to different regions on March 1 to mark their marriage.
The initiative covered cities and states including Delhi, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, among others.
In addition, annadanam (free meal offerings) was organised at temples in several states as part of the celebrations.
Speaking to photographers during the Hyderabad reception, Deverakonda said he and Mandanna hoped to wrap up the festivities soon. “Today, we hope to finish this celebration and go underground. Quiet,” he joked, drawing laughter from those present.
