Panaji, Feb 24: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said Goa should emerge as the innovation capital of India, calling upon the youth to focus on creativity and new ideas that can drive the state’s future growth.

Addressing a gathering, Sawant urged young people to move beyond conventional employment goals and aspire to become job creators. He stressed that the youth should not limit themselves to being job seekers but instead work towards becoming entrepreneurs and innovators who contribute meaningfully to the state’s development.

“The future belongs to those who innovate,” he said, encouraging students and young professionals to develop new ideas and solutions that can help transform Goa into a technology-driven state.

Highlighting the rapid pace of global change, the Chief Minister noted that artificial intelligence, automation, deep technology and space technology are no longer futuristic concepts but present-day realities shaping economies worldwide.

Referring to India’s demographic advantage, he pointed out that over 65 per cent of the country’s population is below 35 years of age. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has often described Yuva Shakti as the nation’s greatest strength.

Sawant particularly addressed Gen Z and Gen Alpha, urging them to leverage their digital skills and innovative mindset to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving technological era. He said Goa has the potential to become a hub of innovation if young minds actively participate in building new technologies and solutions.

Reiterating the state government’s commitment to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, the Chief Minister said the future growth of Goa depends on empowering its youth to think creatively and act boldly.
