Bantwal, Feb 16: A major mishap was averted after a car lost control and rammed into an electric pole, causing it to snap and fall, at Ukkuda near Vitla on Monday.
The front portion of the car was completely damaged due to the impact of the collision, while the electric pole broke and collapsed. It is learnt that the occupants of the car escaped with minor injuries.
Following the snapping of the electric pole, live electric wires fell onto the road.
However, as there was no vehicular or pedestrian movement at the time, no untoward incident was reported.
