Mangaluru, Feb 13: In a swift, intelligence-driven operation, the Mangaluru City CCB police have busted an alleged inter-city drug trafficking racket and arrested three men accused of sourcing the banned narcotic MDMA from Bengaluru and bringing it to the coastal belt for sale to the public and students.
Acting on credible information that the contraband had been procured in Bengaluru and was being transported in a grey Swift car for distribution in the Talapady area of Ullal taluk, CCB officers mounted a targeted operation on February 12, 2026. The vehicle was intercepted while the accused were allegedly attempting to sell the substance.

The arrested have been identified as Mustafa Seediyabba (34), son of Seediyabba, residing at Ullal; Maiyaddi (28), son of Abdulla, and who is currently residing in a rented house near Mastikatte Junction behind the timber depot in Ullal; and Mohammed Shifan (28), son of Umar Farooq, residing at Mohammed Compound, Mukkacheri, Ullal.
During the operation, police seized 118.13 grams of MDMA valued at Rs 11,90,000, four mobile phones allegedly used in coordinating the trafficking activity, and the grey Swift car bearing registration number KA-19-MQ-3420. The total value of the seized drugs and property is estimated at Rs 17,95,000.
A case has been registered at the Ullal police station, and further investigation is under way.
Police officials said Mustafa Seediyabba had previously been booked in a cattle theft case at the Kankanady Town police station, while Maiyaddi had earlier been named in an assault case within the Ullal police limits.
Investigators suspect the involvement of additional persons in the drug supply chain, pointing to a wider narcotics network operating between Bengaluru and the coast. Efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend other associates linked to the racket.
