Udupi, Feb 10: Panic gripped residents of a house in Thekkatte after a massive cobra measuring around seven feet in length was spotted on the premises. The reptile was safely rescued on Monday, February 9, following a swift operation by senior environmental snake expert Sridhar Aithal of Koteshwara.

The household members, who had noticed the snake’s movement in and around the house over the past several days, immediately alerted Aithal.

Reaching the spot without delay, Sridhar Aithal displayed remarkable skill and calm as he manoeuvred the cobra into a bag. “The snake was later released safely into a protected forest area,” sources said.

A highly experienced snake expert, Sridhar Aithal has so far rescued and released more than 6,000 snakes of various species, including the king cobra, into safe forest habitats. He is also known for his expertise in treating injured snakes and rehabilitating them before releasing them back into the wild.
