Mangaluru, Feb 7: The Mangaluru City police have arrested two individuals in connection with a high-value theft from a house in Kenjaru Jokatte under Bajpe police station, recovering gold jewellery worth around Rs 27 lac along with cash and a vehicle.
According to police, the incident took place on September 23, 2025, when homeowner Mohammed Sharif had gone to a relative’s mehndi ceremony in Kalwary.
During his absence, gold jewellery valued at approximately Rs 23 lac and cash of Rs 1.25 lac was stolen.

A case was registered under FIR No. 176/2025, sections 331(3), 331(4), and 305 BNS 2023.
Police identified Abdul Nasar, also known as Nasir or Nachi (31), son of Yusuf, originally from near Kalwary Church, Kalwary Post, Baal village, Mangaluru taluk, and currently residing in a rented house at Zarinagar, Bajpe village, as the prime accused. He allegedly carried out the theft and fled abroad. A Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued to apprehend him.
On being traced under the LOC, Abdul Nasar confessed to committing the theft along with two accomplices, including Mohammed Sharif’s relative, Mayyadi Imran of Kalwary.
Police recovered the stolen items from the accused, including gold weighing 222 grams, valued at Rs 27 lac, cash of Rs 20,000, and a scooter worth approximately Rs 50,000.
The accused have been presented before the court, which has ordered their judicial custody, the police added.
