New Delhi, Feb 3: Spanish football sensation Lamine Yamal has reaffirmed his commitment to FC Barcelona, declaring that he hopes to spend his entire career at the Catalan club where his extraordinary journey began.
Yamal burst onto the senior stage in 2023, making his first-team debut at just 15 years old. Since then, he has rapidly established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in world football, delivering performances that have already earned him a place in Barcelona’s modern history.
Speaking at the Mundo Deportivo Gala, the teenager left no doubt about where his future lies. “I want to stay at Barcelona all my life. I’m at the best club in the world and I enjoy every day of training,” he said. Looking ahead, Yamal underlined his hunger for silverware, stressing the importance of the Copa del Rey and the upcoming fixtures, adding that his best football is still to come.

Barcelona moved swiftly last May to secure his long-term future, reaching an agreement that extends Yamal’s contract until 2031.
Despite being only 18, Yamal has already crossed the remarkable milestone of 100 appearances for the first team. Along the way, he has rewritten record books, becoming the youngest goalscorer in La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup, as well as the youngest player to reach 100 games for the club.
His current season further underlines his growing influence. Yamal has featured in 27 matches, starting 25 of them, and has registered 12 goals and 12 assists. Beyond the numbers, his dribbling ability has emerged as a defining weapon. He has completed 142 successful dribbles from 272 attempts, placing him among Europe’s elite ball carriers.
In domestic competitions across Europe’s top five leagues, Yamal leads the dribbling charts with 94 successful take-ons, comfortably ahead of players such as Jérémy Doku, Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Jr., and Mohammed Kudus. The figures highlight not just flair, but consistency and a growing authority in Barcelona’s attacking play.
With records tumbling and ambition running high, Yamal’s declaration of loyalty only strengthens the sense that Barcelona may be witnessing the rise of a generational icon in the making.
