New Delhi, Jan 23: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted raids at multiple locations in Goa and Delhi in connection with the Goa nightclub fire deaths case, official sources said.
According to officials, the central financial probe agency carried out searches at eight premises linked to the Luthra brothers, including their residential and office locations. Of these, five premises are in Delhi, while three are in Goa, including the brothers’ residences.

The raids were undertaken after the ED registered a money laundering case against the promoters of a Goa-based nightclub where 25 people were killed in a devastating fire in December last year. Searches were also conducted at premises linked to other individuals associated with the case under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), officials added.
The case pertains to the fire that broke out at Birch by Romeo Lane, a nightclub in Arpora village of North Goa, on December 6, 2025, while a dance party was underway. The incident claimed the lives of 25 people and left at least 50 others injured.
Subsequently, the Goa government informed the state legislative assembly that the nightclub had been flagged for illegal construction by revenue officials in 2024.
Brothers Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, co-owners of Birch by Romeo Lane, were held responsible for the blaze. They had reportedly fled the country within hours of the incident and travelled to Thailand. However, they were later deported to India on December 17 last year and are currently in the custody of the Goa police.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
