Mangaluru, Jan 20: A major mishap was narrowly averted after a large tree suddenly fell in front of the Koragajja Katte at Padavinangadi here, causing damage to property and disrupting traffic on Tuesday, January 20.

The impact of the falling tree was so severe that an electricity pole snapped and collapsed at the spot. The tree also fell on a parked scooter, damaging it extensively.

A tempo driver, Sujay Ullal, who was passing through the area at the time of the incident, had a narrow escape as the tree crashed down moments after his vehicle crossed the spot.
