Udupi, Jan 6: The continuous day-and-night protest demanding direct government job recruitment for Koraga community youth, organized by the Koraga Development Associations Federation (Reg), entered its 23rd day at the Udupi District collector’s office premises on Tuesday.
KPCC working president and MLC Manjunath Bhandary visited the protest site and assured the agitating members that their grievances would be brought to the notice of the chief minister. He further stated that a high-level meeting under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner would be convened soon to deliberate on the issues and work towards a suitable resolution.




The protestors reiterated their long-standing demand for direct recruitment to government jobs, highlighting the socio-economic challenges faced by youth from the Koraga community.
Several Congress leaders and representatives, including Udupi District Congress Committee president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, working president Kishan Hegde, State RGPRS vice president Roshni, Dr Sunitha Shetty, Chittaranjan Shetty, Vishwas Amin, Naveen Saliyan, and other local leaders, were present in solidarity with the protesters.
