Dambulla, Jun 21: India A opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi created history on Sunday by smashing the fastest-ever fifty in List A cricket during the tri-series final against Sri Lanka A in Dambulla.
The 15-year-old left-handed batter reached the milestone in just 11 balls, rewriting the previous record and producing a breathtaking display of power hitting.
Sooryavanshi, who opened the innings alongside Priyansh Arya, launched a brutal assault on the Sri Lankan bowlers, racing to his half-century with a flurry of boundaries and sixes.

He continued his explosive innings and narrowly missed out on breaking the fastest List A century record, eventually getting dismissed for a stunning 94 runs off just 29 balls.
His knock also surpassed the previous Indian record for the fastest List A fifty, which was held by Sarfaraz Khan for his 15-ball half-century.
Sooryavanshi’s record-breaking performance came after a relatively quiet run in the tournament and underlined his reputation as one of India’s most exciting young batting talents.
