Mumbai, Jan 2: With the forthcoming municipal elections in Maharashtra, the Muslim Welfare Association has made it clear that its policy stance and electoral priorities are firmly rooted in issues of education, reservation and the protection and upliftment of Muslim, Bahujan and marginalised communities.
In a statement, the organisation’s national leader Saleem Sarang said the Association would extend full support to candidates who place these fundamental concerns at the centre of their election agenda.

“Education is the most powerful and effective means to bring society into the mainstream,” Sarang said, adding that candidates who present concrete and result-oriented plans for quality education, youth skill development and social empowerment would receive the Association’s active backing.
Highlighting social challenges, Sarang pointed out that the growing menace of substance abuse has become a serious concern. He said candidates committed to strengthening society through de-addiction initiatives, youth guidance, rehabilitation programmes and public awareness efforts would be fully supported by the organisation.
He further emphasised that across Maharashtra, candidates working in the interest of society—particularly for the rights, safety and equal opportunities of Muslim, Bahujan and marginalised sections—would find the Association standing firmly behind them.
Sarang also informed that a list of socially committed candidates identified for support by the Muslim Welfare Association would be announced shortly.
