Udupi, Dec 23: Kediyoor’s Lords International Residential School, promoted by Kediyoor Educational Trust, Udupi, celebrated its annual day at the school premises on December 23 with grandeur and enthusiasm.
On the occasion, the CBSE affiliation of Kediyoor’s Lords International Residential School was officially unveiled by MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty.
In his address, MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty described schools as temples of learning and said, “We are growing as individuals, but forgetting what it truly means to live as human beings. The real questions are why we live and how we should live. Many people are well settled, yet lack peace of mind. Some even depend on sleeping pills, and when asked why, they say it is because of their children. While providing mobile phones to children, parents must keep a close watch, as science and education should not turn into a poison. True happiness comes from within, not from external sources.”

Lokesha C, deputy director, Department of School Education, Udupi district, who was the chief guest, described the occasion as a memorable day and urged parents to take greater care of their children. He said, “Parents must take greater responsibility for their children, as education is not the responsibility of teachers alone. I wish the school continued growth and assure full support from our department. The discipline among the students reflects the dedicated efforts of the teachers. It was evident that parents felt immense joy while watching their children perform on stage. Along with teachers, parents too play a vital role in shaping students. This institution has complied with all departmental norms and should continue to provide ample opportunities for students to display their talents”
Girija A Rao, gynaecologist at Sonia Clinic, Manipal, lauded the leadership of Principal Myrtle L F Lewis and the efforts of the teaching staff, saying, “Under the guidance of Principal Myrtle and the dedicated teachers, the school is bound to scale greater heights. Parents are the greatest source of strength for their children. Empathy is not merely sympathy; it is the ability to truly share and understand the emotions of others. In today’s world, kindness and the expression of love are more important than ever.”
Bhuvanendra Kediyoor, chairman, Kediyoor Educational Trust, said, “This is our second annual day celebration. We are making every effort to provide all necessary facilities to our students. As we are relatively new to the field of education, we envisioned establishing a model school in Udupi with a distinct approach. We also conducted a scholarship examination, which saw participation from around 500 students within a short span. My sole objective is to ensure that students are fully prepared before they leave this institution.”
Principal Myrtle L F Lewis presented the annual report of the institution.
Prizes were distributed to students for their achievements in various activities. The cultural segment featured a variety of performances by students, showcasing their talents and creativity.
The program commenced with a prayer song by the school choir. Roopa Ashok Shetty, Vice Principal welcomed the gathering
