SJEC inaugurates silver jubilee legacy lecture series with inspiring talk by Prof Dhaval Pujara

Mangaluru, Mar 17: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, inaugurated its SJEC Legacy Lecture Series as part of the institution’s silver jubilee celebrations, with the first lecture titled ‘Four Mantras That Will Transform Your Life'. The event was held on March 17 at the Kalam Auditorium on the college campus.

The inaugural lecture was delivered by Prof Dhaval Pujara, pro-vost (vice chancellor) of Adani University, Ahmedabad. The lecture aimed to inspire students and faculty by sharing practical life principles through the theme ‘Four Mantras That Will Transform Your Life.’ The event was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and SANJOSH – The SJEC Teaching Learning Centre, in association with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by ‘A Walk Down Memory Lane – SJEC', which highlighted the institution’s milestones and achievements. The dignitaries were then escorted to the dais, after which the principal delivered the welcome address. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the formal inauguration of the lecture series. Dr Shama B N introduced the keynote speaker, following which Prof Dhaval Pujara delivered his insightful talk. The session engaged the audience with thought-provoking ideas and was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session in which students and faculty actively participated.

During his lecture, Prof Dhaval Pujara spoke about the concept of Creator and Creation, emphasizing that faith in a supreme power is the first lesson one must embrace in their life. He highlighted the importance of prompt engineering in the modern technological era and then elaborated on the four mantras that can transform life: positive attitude, time management, stress management, and ethics & values.

He also spoke about an individual’s priorities in life, stating that the order of priorities should be self, family and the organization. He shared practical tips on effective time management and strategies for managing stress in both personal and professional life.

The programme also included the felicitation of the guest speaker, acknowledging his contribution to academia and leadership. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the convenor, Dr Pavana Kumara B, followed by the college anthem.

The silver jubilee legacy lecture series aims to bring eminent speakers from academia and industry to SJEC, providing students with exposure to transformative ideas and real-world perspectives. The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development.

The silver jubilee celebrations are coordinated by Dr Binu K G, while the lecture series convenors are Dr Pavana Kumara B and Roopesh. Through initiatives such as the legacy lecture series, SJEC continues to strengthen its mission of nurturing competent engineers and responsible citizens while celebrating 25 years of academic excellence.

The event concluded with the resource person planting a sapling to commemorate his successful visit to SJEC on March 17, in the presence of all the dignitaries.
