KSC Bahrain commences annual sports meet with pomp

Media Release

Bahrain, Dec 14: The Karnataka Social Club Bahrain convened its annual sports meet on Friday, December 12, at the spacious Al Najma Club ground in Bahrain.

The event was inaugurated with an impressive march past, during which the red, blue, green and yellow houses showcased their flair. Teams were awarded initial points based on the quality and presentation of their displays.

The proceedings were followed by the keynote address by president Cletus Rodrigues, who highlighted the importance of teamwork, collaboration and respectful sportsmanship among participants. The formal athletic events were preceded by the oath-taking ceremony, administered by sports secretary Ajaj Lobo.

After the successful completion of the oath, the sports agenda commenced with games exclusively for children, followed by demanding track and field events mainly reserved for adults. Athletic events such as cock fight and shot put for both ladies and gents drew enthusiastic applause from the spectators.

The concluding event was a spirited tug of war, featuring keen rivalry among the four houses. Winners were felicitated with medals at the presentation podium.

The annual sports meet concluded as scheduled, though not before a brief downpour, poetically described as a shower of blessings from above.
