Hamas claims recovery of another Israeli captive’s remains in Northern Gaza

Daijiworld Media Network – Gaza

Gaza, Dec 3: Members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad have said that remains recovered in northern Gaza belong to another Israeli captive, with Israel preparing to receive the body in the coming hours. The development comes a day after Israel stated that remains handed over on Tuesday were not those of either of the two captives still listed as missing.

According to sources in Gaza, militant groups retrieved the remains during ongoing searches in the war-ravaged northern sector and notified mediators of their intention to transfer them. Israeli authorities have not yet confirmed the identity and have said forensic examination will be required once the body arrives.

The return of the remains has added to the uncertainty surrounding the fate of the two Israeli captives whose whereabouts remain unknown. On Tuesday, Israeli officials publicly rejected claims that earlier remains handed over by militants matched either missing captive, prompting renewed diplomatic pressure over the ongoing hostage issue.

The latest transfer is expected to undergo immediate forensic evaluation as Israel continues efforts to account for all captives taken during the conflict.
