Bhuj, Nov 26: Weeks after a Pakistani couple crossed into India through Rajasthan, another pair from Sindh was intercepted by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel along the Gujarat frontier in the early hours of Monday.

According to police, the duo was spotted around 2:50 am between pillars 523 and 524 on the Indian side of the border and was later handed over to Balasar police station, Kutch (East), around 4 am on Tuesday.

The two identified themselves as Popatkumar Nathu Bhil (24) and Gauri Gulab Bhil (20), but were unable to produce any identity documents. Investigators said they were carrying only 100 Pakistani Rupees. “They claimed to be in a relationship but their families were against it,” an officer told The Indian Express.

Police said the couple claimed to be residents of a village in Tharparkar district under Mirpur Khas Division of Sindh Province. They are expected to be taken to the Joint Interrogation Centre in Bhuj for further questioning by security agencies.
Kutch (East) Superintendent of Police Sagar Bagmar was unavailable for comment.

Earlier, on October 8, another couple from Pakistan — Toto alias Tara Ranmal Chudi and Meena alias Puja Karsan Chudi — was detained at Ratanpar village in Kutch after allegedly eloping from Islamkot, Sindh, following opposition from their families.
