Mumbai, Nov 25: Morning commuters on the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3 faced unexpected delays on Tuesday after a technical snag forced a brief halt in operations during peak hours. Services were stopped for nearly 10 minutes when one of the metro trains encountered an issue at Siddhivinayak station.
Mumbai Metro 3 authorities took to X to inform passengers about the disruption, stating, “Due to a technical issue in one train at Siddhivinayak station, services were briefly halted for around 10 minutes.”
Officials later confirmed that the problem had been resolved, though trains continued to run 5–10 minutes behind schedule. “Our teams are monitoring operations closely, and normal services are expected to resume shortly. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to our commuters,” the update added.

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), which operates Metro Line 3, rushed engineering and technical teams to the site soon after the snag was reported. Passengers aboard the halted train were safely escorted out as officials worked to restore normalcy.
The Aqua Line, inaugurated just months ago by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is one of Mumbai’s most significant infrastructure projects. Developed at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore, the 33.5-km fully underground corridor connects key business districts, the airport, and prominent entertainment hubs, promising to ease the city’s mounting traffic woes.
Despite Tuesday’s hiccup, authorities assured that the state-of-the-art metro line remains a crucial lifeline for smoother travel between South Mumbai and the suburbs.
