Kadaba (Uppinangadi), Nov 9: The Karnataka government has finally ordered a long-delayed joint survey of reserved forest lands in Kadaba taluk, covering villages including Ainekidu, Subramanya, Bilinele, Shiribagilu, Kombaru, Konaje, Aitturu, Nujibaltill, Renjiladi, and Shiradi.
The survey is set to commence from November 10, Sudheer Kumar Shetty, president of the Kadaba Taluk Implementation Committee for Guarantee Schemes, announced on Saturday.

“The joint survey of forest and revenue lands in the taluk had been stalled for several years, creating major hurdles for farmers. Even when land approvals were granted, access to bank loans was impossible, and permissions for housing or other construction could not be obtained. After representations to the District Minister and the Revenue and Forest Department ministers, the government has now ordered the survey and submission of a report,” Sudheer Kumar Shetty said.
Forest officers from Subramanya, Panj, and Uppinangadi divisions, along with revenue surveyors and plan-related land surveyors, will carry out the survey. The work had been previously suspended due to heavy rains, but authorities have directed that it resume on November 10.
The survey will be conducted in two teams, starting with areas holding the largest plots under a single survey number. Bilinele and Konaje villages will be the first to undergo the survey. Sudheer Kumar urged farmers to extend full cooperation to officials to ensure smooth progress.
Former Zilla Panchayat member P P Varghese noted, “The Planning Authority has been authorised to issue uniform land maps and Form 9/11 for converted lands, which caused difficulties for farmers. We requested the government to transfer these powers back to the Grama Panchayat, and a verbal approval has already been given. This will soon be implemented in practice.”
The press conference was attended by Kadaba block Congress Women’s unit president Sharada Dinesh, Block Congress general secretary Satish Nak Meluname, Kukke Subramanya Master Plan member Satish Koojugodu, Kadaba block Congress social media president Pradeep Kallige, Bilinele Gopalakrishna Temple Management Committee member Bhavya Santosh, and Youth Congress leader Satish Minadi.
