Jerusalem, Nov 6: The Israeli military announced on Wednesday that it has killed around 20 people in Lebanon over the past month, identifying all of them as militants, including a senior member of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force who was targeted earlier in the day.
The latest strike, which hit southern Lebanon, comes amid a surge in Israeli cross-border attacks and escalating rhetoric despite a fragile ceasefire — raising fears that Israel could be preparing to resume large-scale air operations in its northern neighbor, Xinhua News Agency reported.
In a statement, the Israeli army said the individuals killed were targeted as part of efforts “to remove threats against the State of Israel.”

Earlier on Wednesday, the military confirmed it had “struck and eliminated” Hussein Jaber Dib, described as a member of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force involved in “advancing terror attacks against the State of Israel and its citizens.”
Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that one person was killed and another wounded when an Israeli airstrike hit a car in the town of Burj Rahal, located in the southern district of Tyre. “The attack resulted in the martyrdom of one citizen and the injury of another,” the ministry said in a statement, without revealing their identities.
However, security sources confirmed that the target was indeed Hussein Jaber Dib, a resident of Shuhur municipality.
Although a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah has been in effect since November 27, Israeli forces have continued to carry out near-daily airstrikes in southern Lebanon. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) maintain that these operations are aimed at neutralizing Hezbollah activities and safeguarding its northern frontier.
The continued hostilities have fueled regional concern that the situation could spiral into a wider confrontation, undermining the fragile ceasefire and destabilizing the already volatile Israel-Lebanon border.
