Chennai, Nov 4: Malayalam actor Dileep on Tuesday released the trailer of ‘Inspection Bungalow’, an upcoming horror-comedy web series directed by Saiju S. S. and starring Shabareesh Varma in the lead role. The series is set to premiere on ZEE5 on November 14.
Touted as Kerala’s first horror-comedy series, Inspection Bungalow blends elements of mystery, fear, humour, and emotion in a story that unfolds inside a police station plagued by supernatural events.
Produced by Veena Nair under the banner of A Veena Nair Productions and written by Suneesh Varanaad, the series also features Aadhiya Prasad, Shaju Sreedhar, and Senthil Krishna in key roles.

Set in the fictional village of Aravangad, the story follows Sub-Inspector Vishnu (played by Shabareesh Varma), a reluctant cop haunted by his past, who is transferred to a police station relocated to an abandoned colonial-era building known as the Inspection Bungalow. What begins as a routine posting soon spirals into a chilling investigation filled with ghostly apparitions, mysterious deaths, and buried secrets.
Director Saiju S. S. said the series goes beyond traditional scares:
“Inspection Bungalow isn’t just about fear—it’s about finding humour and meaning in it. We wanted to craft a space where laughter and horror coexist naturally.”
Actor Shabareesh Varma described his role as “a balance between fear, absurdity, and irony,” adding that the mix of dark comedy and emotion pushed him as a performer.
Lloyd C. Xavier, Malayalam and Tamil Business Head and South SVP Marketing at ZEE5, said the platform is excited to bring another original Malayalam story after Kammattam.
“This show captures courage, belief, and the human spirit through an engaging mix of mystery and laughter,” he said.
With its unique genre blend and strong cast, Inspection Bungalow promises to be a trailblazing entry into Malayalam OTT storytelling, offering both scares and smiles in equal measure.
