Mangaluru, Nov 1: Podar International School, Mangaluru (CBSE), celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on Saturday, November 1. The day was marked by a vibrant procession and a series of cultural performances that highlighted the rich heritage, language, and traditions of Karnataka.
The celebration began with a grand Kannada Rajyotsava procession that started from Kavoor Junction and proceeded to the school campus. Students, teachers, and staff members participated joyfully, dressed in traditional attire and waving Kannada flags, spreading the message of unity and pride in Karnataka’s culture and language.


































Police inspector Raghavendra M Baindoor from the Kavoor police station graced the event as the chief guest. He flagged off the procession and appreciated the school’s efforts in nurturing cultural awareness and Kannada pride among young students.
Upon reaching the school campus, the celebrations continued with a stage programme organised by the students from the four school houses — Aqua, Ignis, Terra, and Ventus — who presented a variety of cultural performances depicting the beauty, art, and culture of regions such as Mysuru, Kodagu, Mangaluru, and Shivamogga.
Each performance showcased Karnataka’s diversity through dance, drama, and music, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience. The colourful attires, rhythmic steps, and melodious songs filled the atmosphere with festive energy and pride in Kannada identity.
Principal Girish Kumar addressed the gathering and extended warm wishes to everyone on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava. He appreciated the efforts of the students and staff for organising a meaningful celebration that reflected the true essence of Kannadambe. He also emphasised the importance of preserving the Kannada language and culture in today’s globalised world.
Parents, teachers, and staff members actively participated in the celebration, making it a memorable event. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and the singing of the state anthem, Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate. The day left a lasting impression on everyone, rekindling love and respect for Karnataka’s glorious heritage.
