Kundapur, Oct 29: A case of large-scale financial fraud has been registered in Kundapur after it was alleged that a local education trust collected lacs of rupees from the public under the pretext of developing government schools in Beluru village.
According to reports, the accused allegedly created two fake trust deeds in the name of an education trust and misused the government’s school development initiative to collect donations from well-wishers. The funds, meant for the development of the Beluru Government Primary and High Schools, were reportedly misappropriated.

It is alleged that the trust failed to conduct mandatory annual audits, falsely mentioned the village panchayat building as its office address in the trust documents, and even held trust meetings during school hours on school premises, violating government circulars.
In another allegation, the trust claimed ownership of a bus donated by a charity organization named Charmakki, while also failing to pay the pending fuel expenses associated with it.
The alleged irregularities came to light during a community meeting, where members revealed that financial misappropriation had taken place within the trust. Following this, advocate Avinash Shetty filed a written complaint supported by documents against 12 individuals. Based on the Kundapur court’s directive, a case has been registered at the Kota police station.
Police are investigating the matter to verify the extent of financial irregularities and identify those responsible for the misuse of public contributions meant for school development.
