Mangaluru: Key accused arrested in Surathkal stabbing incident

Mangaluru, Oct 25: Police have arrested a key suspect in the late-night stabbing incident that occurred in front of a bar in Surathkal police station limits on Thursday, October 23. The arrested accused has been identified as Gururaj Achari, a known rowdy. The arrest took place on Saturday, October 25.

Authorities are still on the lookout for another accused, Ashok, who had allegedly provided shelter to the perpetrators and is currently on the wanted list.

The incident reportedly erupted following a clash between two groups inside the bar, which escalated into a stabbing outside the premises.

Two victims, Nizam, a resident of Chokkabetta, Surathkal, and Hasan, from Krishnapur Hillside, sustained injuries in the stabbing and are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Earlier, on Friday, October 24, police had arrested accused Sushanth, Alex, Nitin, and Arun Shetty, who was alleged to have assisted the culprits.
