Paris, Sep 23: France forward Ousmane Dembele on Monday claimed the coveted men’s Ballon d’Or, capping a sensational year in which he spearheaded Paris Saint-Germain’s historic Champions League triumph.
The 28-year-old winger edged out Barcelona’s teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal to succeed 2024 winner Rodri. Dembele netted 35 goals across competitions as PSG secured a French league and cup double alongside their maiden Champions League title.

“I really don’t have the words. It was an incredible season with PSG,” an emotional Dembele said, crediting coach Luis Enrique as “like a father” and lauding the team effort behind the achievement.
Yamal, 18, collected the Kopa Trophy for best under-21 player for the second consecutive year, while Spain and Barcelona star Aitana Bonmati won the Women’s Ballon d’Or for a record third straight time.
