Istanbul, Sept 2: Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson has officially left Manchester City after an illustrious eight-year stint, sealing a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. The Istanbul-based club confirmed the transfer on social media, announcing that Ederson has arrived in the city to complete his signing.

Ederson leaves behind a legacy as one of Manchester City's most decorated players, having won an astonishing 18 major trophies under manager Pep Guardiola. His silverware collection includes six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, three Community Shields, and the club’s historic first titles in the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Since arriving at City ahead of the 2017/18 season, Ederson made 372 appearances across all competitions and played a pivotal role in the club’s domestic and European dominance. He holds the record for the most Premier League clean sheets by a City goalkeeper — 122 in 276 league appearances.

In a heartfelt farewell message, Ederson reflected on his journey: “I leave Manchester City incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, and I am honoured to have worn the shirt so many times. Under Pep, we have dominated the Premier League and conquered Europe. It has been amazing."

He expressed gratitude to Guardiola and Head of Goalkeeping Xabier Mancisidor, saying, "They made me the best goalkeeper I could be and taught me so much about the game." He also thanked his teammates and the club's supporters, adding, “I arrived in Manchester eight years ago full of hope, but I could not have predicted such a beautiful time together. Playing for City has been the most special time of my life and I will always be a fan of this special club. Once a Blue, always a Blue.”

Ederson's individual accolades include three Golden Glove awards, given to the goalkeeper with the most Premier League clean sheets. He won the award outright in 2019-20 and 2020-21, and shared it in 2021-22 with Alisson Becker, both recording 20 clean sheets that season.

As Ederson begins a new chapter with Fenerbahce, he departs as a City legend — not just for his statistics and titles, but for his composure, leadership, and transformational role in the modern goalkeeper’s game.
