Puttur: Accused absconding in fake currency case arrested in Uppinangady

Puttur, Aug 26: Police arrested Nizamuddin alias Nizam (33), son of Mohammed K A, a resident of Nizam Manzil, Talapady House, Jodu Marg, BC Road, Bantwal, and currently residing at a rented house near Bajattur Madrasa, Olalu Post, who had been absconding in connection with a fake currency case.

A case had been registered against him in 2023 at Mangaluru East police station under sections 489(B) and (C) read with 34 IPC. After being released on bail, he failed to appear before the court, leading the court to issue eight arrest warrants against him.

Based on credible information, the Mangaluru East police crime division staff and warrant execution team apprehended him at Valalu near Uppinangady on August 25. As he violated bail conditions, action was taken against him under section 269 BNS-2023, and he was produced before the court.

The accused has pending cases registered against him at Mangaluru East, Mangaluru South, Mangaluru Barke, Kushalnagar, Madivala, Puttur town and Vittal police stations.
