Udupi: Fisherman drowns after boat capsizes near Sasthana Koditale

Udupi, Aug 22: A tragic incident unfolded off the coast near Sasthana Koditale on August 22, when a fishing boat capsized amid rough seas, claiming the life of a fisherman.

The deceased has been identified as Sharath.

According to sources, three fishermen had ventured out to sea when their boat overturned due to strong waves. While Akshay Kharvi and Manjunath Kharvi managed to swim ashore and escape unharmed, Sharath drowned in the mishap.

A case has been registered at Kota police station.
