Kasargod: Manjeshwar ASI found dead by hanging in police quarters

Kasargod, Aug 21: In a tragic incident, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Manjeshwar police station was found dead by hanging at the police quarters on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Madhusoodhan (49), a resident of Kuttikol. His body was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan after fellow policemen grew suspicious when he failed to report to duty in the morning.

Madhusoodhan had earlier served at Badiadka, Adur, and Kasargod town police stations. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained.

Senior police officials visited the spot following the incident. A death note was recovered from the quarters. Colleagues described him as a sincere and dedicated officer.

The Manjeshwar police have registered a case and conducted an inquest. The officer was unmarried.
