Moodbidri, Aug 15: A shocking video capturing a man allegedly harassing a young woman on a private bus has gone viral on social media, prompting swift police action in Moodbidri. The accused has now been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

The accused has been identified as Rehman (60), a resident of Kukkadelu, Kariyangadi, in Belvai village, under the Moodbidri postal limits.

The video, which sparked public outrage, shows the man behaving inappropriately towards a woman travelling on a private bus. However, due to the unclear visibility of the woman’s face, police have been unable to confirm her identity so far.

Rehman was called in for questioning at the Moodbidri police station. During the inquiry, he denied knowing the identity of the woman, and no complaint has yet been lodged by the victim.

“The victim or the person who recorded the video can directly approach the police station. Once a complaint is filed, necessary legal measures will be taken,” stated inspector Sandesh.

Police have urged the public to cooperate and help trace the victim, ensuring justice is served in this disturbing case.
