Mangaluru, Aug 13: The problem caused by the jammer installed at the district prison in the city will be resolved at the earliest, assured home minister Dr G Parameshwara.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour on Wednesday, August 13, in the Legislative Council member Ivan D’Souza referred to a report in media sections. He said the Mangaluru jail jammer has been creating problems within a 2 km radius, affecting the Dakshina Kannada District Court, business transactions, online education, and court proceedings.

Despite instructions from the home minister, officials have not resolved the issue. Quoting the news report, D’Souza said the jammer remains “unyielding even to the minister’s orders.”

He further pointed out that the Mangaluru prison has made news due to clashes, and urged that funds be released for completing the under-construction prison at Balepuni near Bantwal, along with necessary steps for prisoner transfer.
