Bantwal, Aug 12: In a proactive step toward resolving local land survey disputes and boosting infrastructure, the Bantwal Urban Development Authority (BUDA) held its monthly meeting on Tuesday under the leadership of president Baby Kunder.

A key highlight of the meeting was the decision to address the ongoing confusion related to survey numbers 9 and 11. BUDA resolved to call a joint meeting involving Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) and Panchayat presidents of the taluk to discuss and find a clear resolution to the issue, which has been causing administrative delays and public concern.

In another significant move, BUDA decided to submit a detailed proposal to the deputy commissioner for the development of Girigudde Lake in Bantwal Kasaba village. The lake, which holds potential as both a water resource and a community space, is expected to see upgrades that could enhance the local environment and improve civic amenities.

The meeting saw the participation of several key members and officials, including BUDA members Manohar Kulal, Abdul Razak, and Harish Ajjibettu; Amtady PDO Gokuldas Bhakt; Narikombu panchayat officer Harish; Municipal representative Abdul Razak; and planning authority secretary Gayathri Dombar.

These decisions signal BUDA’s growing focus on proactive governance and sustainable urban development in the Bantwal region.
