Mangaluru, Jul 22: Kindergarten section of Carmel School, Kotekar came alive with vibrant energy and cheerful giggles as the little ones celebrated Rainy Day with great enthusiasm on Jul 21. It was a delightful occasion designed to help children connect with nature and understand the beauty and significance of the monsoon season through fun-filled, interactive activities.
The celebration began with a soulful morning prayer, where children thanked God for the rains that bring life to nature—nurturing plants, filling rivers, and spreading joy all around. The teachers then introduced the day’s theme in creative and age-appropriate ways, using stories, visuals, and real-life examples to explain rain, clouds, rainbows, umbrellas, and raincoats. The children eagerly shared their personal rainy-day experiences, making the session heartwarming and lively.

To mark the occasion, the children came dressed in shades of blue, symbolizing water and rain. Their radiant smiles and colorful attire transformed the classrooms into a mini monsoon parade, setting the perfect tone for the day.
One of the highlights was a charming rain song performance by the Nursery students. Their melodious voices, paired with joyful actions, brought wide smiles to everyone’s faces and filled the atmosphere with warmth and happiness.
The Kindergarten coordinator, Sr Ashwina, graced the celebration with her presence. She appreciated the sincere efforts of the teachers and the enthusiastic participation of the children. In her short message, she encouraged the little ones to value every season and to love and care for the environment.
The excitement continued outdoors with a creative paper boat activity. Children joyfully crafted boats and watched them float in puddles and water tubs, squealing with excitement. Dressed in adorable raincoats and holding colorful umbrellas, they walked around the garden area, fully immersed in the spirit of the rainy season.
Indeed, it was a day where fun met learning under the beautiful drizzles of nature.
