Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School kindergarten section holds Vanamahotsav finale

Mangaluru, Jul 12: Lourdes Central School kindergarten section held the Vanamahotsav Finale on July 11 at the KG Hall.

The programme began by invoking God's blessings with the KG 1 and 2 children singing a prayer song. The programme was graced by the principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira, PTEC members and other parents.

A welcome speech to the principal, PTEC members, parents and teachers was given by the students of KG 2, also expressing the significance of this event.

The events commenced with pre-KG students showcasing a dance performance. Dressed in vibrant outfits and creative headbands, they performed a choreographed dance which captured the audience's attention.

Thereafter, a role play was performed by the students of KG 2 signifying the importance of the uses of trees.

An action song was performed by the students of KG 1 and 2, signifying the growth and parts of the plant and the importance of having trees.

A dance drama was performed by the students of KG 2 emphasizing the benefits of growing and save trees and demerits of cutting trees.

After the performances, Fr principal addressed the students and parents. He stressed on the importance of our duty to love the trees and how as humans we should work towards the betterment of the society. He asked all the children present there to name the different parts of the trees and had them enact the structure of a tree. He asked them to take a pledge to love and take care of the trees.

Thereafter, Fr principal along with the PTEC members and the children planted a sapling.

The event was compered by Lavita D'Souza and the vote of thanks was given by Linette Pereira.

The event concluded with a photograph taken of all the participants with Fr principal and the teachers.
