Udupi: Mount Rosary English Medium School holds PTA meeting

Media Release

Udupi, Jul 8: High School level parents-teachers association meeting held at Mount Rosary English Medium School, Santhekatte.

Dr P V Bhandary, psychologist, as the resource person, said, “Parents, teachers, or elders of today grew up being punished by parents or teachers for the mischief they did during their childhood. That was the social system in those days. But in this new century, today’s children are naturally active, talented, and sensitive by birth. Today, education cannot be imparted through punishment. Such punishment leaves a deep impact on their subconscious mind, hindering their learning further. Children must be corrected with love, not scolding.”

Fr Dr Roque D’Souza, correspondent presided over the meeting and spoke about how it is unfortunate that high school students are getting attracted to narcotic substances due to media and peer influence. He urged parents to keep a close watch on their children.

Nagaraj, who presided over last year’s parents-teachers meeting was felicitated on this occasion.

Teacher Vanitha Fernandes association secretary presented the annual report. Sr Ancilla headmistress gave a brief introduction of the school’s development and activities.

Students presented a concise report of their activities in a special manner.

Teacher Mamtha welcomed the gathering. Sathyavathi delivered the vote of thanks. Divyajyothi compered the event.
