Mumbai: Man attempts suicide on railway tracks at Mira Road, rescued in time

Mumbai, Jun 15: In a heart-stopping incident at Mira Road railway station on Saturday afternoon, a man attempted suicide by lying down on the fast-line tracks, triggering panic among onlookers. The alertness of the train’s motorman averted a potential tragedy, as he spotted the individual in time and brought the train to a complete halt.

Eyewitnesses said the unidentified man then stood up, walked a short distance, and shockingly sat down underneath the halted train. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, along with other authorities, quickly reached the spot and safely rescued the individual.

The incident led to a brief disruption of fast-line services on the Western Railway, causing minor delays for commuters.

Authorities are yet to ascertain the identity of the man and the reason behind the extreme step. Further investigation is underway.
