Nashik, Jun 1: Bhadrakali police have arrested a 19-year-old and detained two minors for allegedly attempting to murder a 17-year-old boy in a dispute over Instagram account credentials on Friday morning. The accused, identified as Farid Mansuri from the Bhadrakali area, reportedly assaulted the victim after he refused to share the login details for his popular social media account.

Senior Inspector Gajendra Patil of Bhadrakali police station said the incident was uncovered when constables Santosh Avhad and Azaruddin Inamdar were patrolling near the Godavari river under Kannamwar bridge. They spotted five youths in a heated argument, with one of them holding a chopper to another’s neck. The constables quickly intervened, detained the individuals, and seized the weapon.

The victim, Saurabh Maurya, who has over 800,000 followers on Instagram, told police that Mansuri and the minors had been pressuring him for the account’s login credentials.
