Bengaluru, Jun 1: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are just one win away from scripting history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After a dominating victory over Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1, the team is all set for the much-awaited final, aiming to clinch their first-ever IPL title in 17 seasons.
While RCB’s loyal fanbase is praying for the big win, English cricket legends Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton shared a lighter moment on a Sky Sports podcast, teasing RCB mentor Dinesh Karthik.
"RCB have got through to the finals. If they win that, DK is going to be unbearable," Hussain quipped. Atherton added, “He’ll be like John Terry at the front of the RCB trophy presentation with Virat Kohli!”
Karthik, who transitioned from a pundit to mentor this season, has been a crucial part of the franchise’s turnaround. Often spotted giving instructions from beyond the boundary, DK has brought fresh energy and leadership into the RCB camp.
“Being part of RCB is a very special feeling,” Karthik shared. “The fans, the brand of cricket, the journey—it’s been emotional. When I played, we came close. Now, as a coach, there’s another shot at the trophy. Why not be part of that dream?”
As the final nears, all eyes are on RCB to see if they can finally lift the IPL trophy and end their long-standing title drought.
