Vasco, May 31: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has assured to take necessary steps to address the concerns regarding medical treatment for ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) beneficiaries in Goa.

The assurance came following a meeting in Delhi, where Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar met the Defence Minister to raise issues flagged by the United Veterans Association.

Speaking to media, Salkar said, “The Chief Minister highlighted the pressing concerns faced by ex-servicemen in Goa under the ECHS scheme. The Defence Minister gave us a patient hearing and assured that he will look into the matter and resolve it at the earliest.”

The ex-servicemen’s body has long expressed concerns about limited access to proper medical facilities under the scheme in Goa. With the Defence Minister’s assurance, the veterans and their families now hope for timely intervention and improvement in healthcare support.
