Panaji, May 30: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has assured swift action to resolve medical treatment issues faced by beneficiaries of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) in Goa, according to Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar.

Salkar, who accompanied Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to meet the Defence Minister, said that the concerns were raised by the United Veterans Association regarding medical treatment and access to facilities for ECHS beneficiaries in the State.

“During our discussion, the Chief Minister raised concerns brought forward by the United Veterans Association regarding medical treatment for ECHS beneficiaries in Goa, urging for a swift resolution to these issues,” said Salkar.

He added that the Defence Minister acknowledged the concerns and assured that he would look into the matter and resolve it at the earliest.

Goa has a significant population of ex-servicemen who rely on ECHS facilities for healthcare, and concerns have been raised about inadequate services and long wait times at designated hospitals.

The Chief Minister is expected to follow up with the Defence Ministry to ensure that promised improvements are implemented.
