Manama, May 25: In a rare display of national unity cutting across party lines, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi strongly condemned Pakistan’s role in fuelling cross-border terrorism during an interaction in Bahrain, where he is part of a multi-party parliamentary delegation.
The delegation, headed by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, comprises representatives from various political parties, including BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, and Satnam Singh Sandhu, along with Ghulam Nabi Azad and former Indian Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla. The team is visiting key West Asian nations including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Algeria to highlight India’s stand on terrorism following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Speaking at the event, Owaisi did not mince words as he labelled Pakistan a “failed state,” blaming it for promoting and supporting terrorism. “Our government has sent us here to let the world know the serious threats India has been grappling with for years. These attacks have claimed numerous innocent lives. The root of this problem lies in Pakistan,” he said.
Owaisi recounted the tragic human cost of terrorism, referring to the Pahalgam attack in which 26 tourists lost their lives. “A woman became a widow just a week after her wedding. Another newlywed woman met the same fate. These aren’t just numbers; they are human lives forever shattered by terror,” he lamented.
Reinforcing India’s defensive capabilities, Owaisi stated, “Our air defence systems and technological might have neutralised threats effectively. India possesses every capability to safeguard not just its citizens but everyone residing within the country’s borders.”
In a notable appeal to Bahrain, Owaisi urged support in bringing Pakistan back to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, claiming that funds from the neighbouring nation were still being routed to aid terror activities. “This is a call for global cooperation. Bahrain and other international partners must understand the urgency. When it comes to national integrity, we stand united—our political differences do not matter,” he added.
The delegation’s visit is aimed at briefing India’s strategic partners and countering global misinformation, reinforcing the country’s firm stance against terrorism and its commitment to international peace and security.
This united stand by Indian parliamentarians, despite differing political ideologies, sends a strong message on India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.
