Two arrested in Udupi for drug trafficking, sent to Dharwad Central Jail

Udupi, May 23: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Udupi district police have arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in the continuous sale of narcotic substances.

The arrested individuals are Krishna Achari (43) from Kolalagiri and Abdul Jabtar (27) from Kelarkalabettu. Both have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and have been remanded to judicial custody at the Dharwad Central Prison.

The arrests were made following a sustained surveillance operation by the district police, who had been monitoring the activities of the accused for some time.

According to police sources, the duo was involved in the distribution of narcotic substances across various parts of the district.
