Bahrain, May 16: A Konkani cultural extravaganza titled ‘Dabazo-2024’ and featuring on stage the famous Yodelling King, Melwyn Peris along with his troupe of artistes are all set to rock the stage on the evening of Thursday May 30, along with local Konkani artistes. This will be the 111th Melwyn Peris Nite.
An unforgettable evening of non-stop entertainment is assured, complete with singing, dance, drama and laughter and all set to take off on stage at Our Lady of Arabia Hall, Sacred Heart Catholic Church premises from 7.30 pm on the day.
Melwyn Peris and his troupe comprising of artistes from Konkani heartland, Anita D’Souza, Ashwin D’Costa and Sonal Monteiro will arrive Bahrain and rock the stage during their Bahrain stopover with songs of yesteryear classics that will touch and reverberate the hearts of Konkani enthusiasts in Bahrain. They will be joined by local artistes from Bahrain who will add further spice to the heart-throbbing entertainment programme and include singers, dancers, and actors performing comedy skits. The comedy skits written and directed by ace stand-up comedian Sujay Pinto will give rib-tickling laughter effect to the audience. The performances will include funny Tulu songs and even a ‘lungi’ dance of yester-years captivating the hearts of people from our Konkani heartland. Added attraction is a dance-skit performance from young-at-heart seniors group and folk dances by the Konkani community own children’s groups, ‘Destiny Kings’ and ‘Shining Stars’. Performances that would certainly keep the crowd rocking in the audience chairs with awe.
Music for the eventful hosted day by maestro Roshan Angelore and Stephen Frank. Ronald Oliveira will gather all his wits and Konkani ammunition to gear up for the day as the main anchor, rolling the programme from start to finish as the enterprising master of ceremonies.
Dabazo-2024 with Melwyn Peris, will indeed be the talk-of-the-town on the shores of Bahrain for the coming weeks up to the finale performance.
The entire programme is complimentary and organised by the Konkani community of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bahrain, under the leadership of its convenor Nelson Menezes. All are welcome.
