Udupi, March 27: Nominations for the Lok Sabha elections will be filed in Udupi from March 28 to April 4. The nominations will be scrutinised on April 5 and April 8 will be the last date for withdrawing them. The processes will be conducted at the office of the deputy commissioner.

The deputy commissioner, Dr K Vidya Kumari, has imposed CRPC Section 144 and restrictions within a radius of 100 meters from the deputy commissioner’s office under the Karnataka Police Act 1963 Section 35 during the process.

The candidates who file the nomination may park a maximum of three vehicles in the office premises. Only up to a maximum of five people including the candidate will be permitted inside the office of electoral officer within the restricted area of 100 meters.

Gatherings in groups of more than five people and going about carrying weapons is banned. Entry will be permitted only for officers and staff engaged in election work, security staff and media staff with permission.

Shouting of slogans, bursting of crackers, processions and behaviour that will disrupt peace and discipline will not be permitted. Damage to public property and or causing loss will not be permitted. These orders do not apply to the police, staff on duty and staff and officers on election duty.

Action under IPC section 188 will be taken against the violators, stated a press release from the office of the deputy commissioner.
