Udupi, Jun 24: Reaffirming its commitment towards community welfare and humanitarian causes, Adani Power Limited – Udupi Thermal Power Plant successfully organized a mega blood donation camp under the banner "Go-Red" as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in the premises of Power Plant in Yellur village, Udupi District.
The initiative was organized to commemorate the 64th birthday of Gautam Adani, founder and chairman of the Adani Group, with employees, contract workforce, and associates participating enthusiastically in the noble cause.


The camp was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp by Dr Sharath Kumar, medical officer, District Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru; Dr Veena Kumari, head of Blood Bank, District Hospital, Udupi, Ajjarkad; Kishore Alva, president and executive director, Adani Group, along with senior officials and department heads of Adani Power Udupi.
Addressing the gathering, Kishore Alva said, "June 24 holds a special significance for the entire Adani team. Across Adani Group locations, the 'Go-Red' initiative brings together thousands of employees to celebrate Shri Gautam Adani's birthday through an act of compassion and service. Blood donation is one of the purest expressions of humanity, and this initiative strengthens our resolve to contribute towards a healthier and more caring society."
He further added, "Beyond business excellence, our commitment remains deeply rooted in creating a positive impact in the communities around us. Every unit of blood donated today has the potential to save a precious life."
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from employees and stakeholders of Adani Power Udupi. The active participation of contract employees and outsourced personnel reflected the collective spirit of giving and community responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sharath Kumar appreciated the continued efforts of the Adani Group and said, "For more than a decade, Adani Group has been consistently conducting blood donation drives. The voluntary contribution from Adani employees has greatly supported the blood banks of Udupi and Mangaluru District Hospitals. Such initiatives are a matter of pride for the entire region."
The day-long camp resulted in the collection of 206 units of blood, which will support the healthcare requirements of patients through local blood banks.
Adani Foundation expressed its sincere gratitude to all donors, volunteers, medical professionals, and support teams who contributed to the success of the initiative.
The "Go-Red" blood donation drive reflects Adani Group’s enduring philosophy of "Growth with Goodness", demonstrating that true progress is measured not only by achievements but also by the positive difference created in the lives of people and communities.
