Mangaluru: CCB police apprehend two wanted offenders involved in multiple cases

Mangaluru, Feb 21: The CCB police have successfully arrested two individuals wanted for various criminal activities and evading court appearances.

Mohammed Abdul Fayan (28) and Mohiddin Hafis alias Abhi (47) is the duo arrested.

Mohammed Abdul Fayan, a resident of Badriya Nagar, Kalkatta, Manjanady, Mangaluru, was implicated in 23 criminal cases across the district, including theft, attempted murder, obstruction of officers' duties in prison, and assault. Despite being released on bail, Fayan failed to appear in court for the past two years. His criminal activities spanned multiple areas within the Mangaluru commissionerate limits, Ullal police station limits, Dakshina Kannada district, Bantwal town, Bantwal rural, Uppinangadi, and Kadaba police station limits. Notably, Fayan had assaulted fellow inmates during his incarceration, obstructed jail staff, and attempted murder. Following his arrest in Bengaluru, where he had been hiding, the CCB police executed 23 warrants issued by the court for his apprehension.

Mohiddin Hafis alias Abhi, a resident of Thoudugoli cross, Naringana, Bantwal, is a notorious drug peddler involved in 10 cases. After securing bail from the court, he absconded without fulfilling his court obligations. Abhi was arrested at Minja, Manjeshwar, Kasargod district, and subsequently handed over to Konaje police station. His drug peddling activities were spread across Konaje, Ullal, Mangaluru, Sen crime police station, Surathkal, and Kankanady. The court had issued ten warrants for his arrest.

The CCB unit, led by Police Inspector Sham Sunder H M, PSI Sharanappa Bhandary, and the CCB staff, carried out the arrests under the guidance of Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal.
