Kundapur, Jan 13: The absence of officials answerable in the taluk panchayat meeting has continued. The members in the meeting urged for action against officials who remained absent in the taluk panchayat meeting on January 13.

Members Karun Poojary and Jyothi Putran raised objection with the district health officer to the indifference to the letter to be present in the meeting and to provide details regarding the public hospital in Kundapur sub-division. Karun Poojary who expressed anguish that the DHO could not attend due to Covid vaccine related work, said that the officials neglected the taluk panchayat. Their explanation was necessary today. They should be summoned under section 143 and action should be taken against them. The deputy commissioner, CS and health minister should write to the government, they said.

Karun Poojary objected to waiting for the department report to issue title deeds to 125 families residing under the housing site scheme in Tallur Hattiangadi for the last several years. How can the land approved for house sites in 1995 be added to deemed forest land now? He asked. Vasudev Pai and Jyothi Putran joined their voices to the objection. Narayan K Gujjadi said that the problem prevails in all the villages and it needs to be solved.

Vasudev Pai said that payments under Sandhya Suraksha and old age pension are pending to the beneficiaries for the last several months. The tahsildar said that the problem will be set right if the beneficiaries hand over their Aadhar card and account book.

Narayana Gujjadi said that Gangolli Madiwala lake and Cholanakere are encroached upon. Member Shailashree Shetty said to reserve government land at Korgi for a sports ground and a theatre. Member Devadas Shetty asked for an explanation for piling up sand at Halnadu. Karun Kumar said that arrangements should be made to dispose trash. Udaya Poojary questioned about DC manna land.

Narayana K Gujjadi said that a cooking assistant employed on a contract basis in the students hostel in Koteshwar from July 2019 till March 2020 was not paid salary.

Taluk panchayat president Indira Shetty presided over the meeting. Vice-president Ramkishan Hegde, social justice committee president Roopa Pai, executive officer Keshava Shettigar, Tahsildar Anandappa were present.
