Udupi, Sep 9: JCI Udupi City, in association with Vanasuma Trust (R) Katapady and Vanasuma Vedike (R) Katapady, will organise Vanasuma Jaycee Week-2026 from September 9 to 15 at Muddan Mana, MGM College Campus, Kunjibettu, Udupi.
The week-long event, being organised under the theme of celebrating 77 years of JCI, will feature a series of social service initiatives, cultural programmes, awareness activities and special stage events.
The inauguration and teaser release of ‘Kovi mattu Kolalu’ will be held on Wednesday, September 9 at 6 pm. JFM Pallavi Kodagu, president of JCI Udupi City and chairperson of the programme, will inaugurate the event. JFS CA Gowrish Bhat, national coordinator for JCI Week-2026, JCI India, will be present, while eminent movie director and theatre practitioner JP Tuminad will release the teaser.
The inaugural programme will also feature the distribution of SS water bottles at Udupi region under the Sustainable Sipping Day initiative.
The programme will continue with various activities throughout the week. Youth Leadership and Voice Day will be observed on September 10, followed by Human Duties & Digital Outreach Day on September 11, Business & Network Growth Day on September 12, Membership Expansion Day on September 13, Family Bonding Day on September 14 and the grand finale, Honouring Heroes & Silent Stars Day, on September 15.
The week will also feature magic shows, dramas, dance performances, Yakshagana and other cultural programmes. An Anyony¬a Dampathi Spardhe (couples' contest) will be held on September 13 at 4 pm.
The organisers said the event will showcase Vanasuma's continued commitment to cultural promotion and community service. Vanasuma Trust and Vanasuma Vedike have been involved in theatre, films, music, dance and various social service initiatives, including programmes for old-age homes, orphanages and underprivileged communities.
A number of prominent personalities from the fields of public service, business, education, healthcare, entertainment and culture have been invited as guests during the seven-day celebrations.
The organisers have invited the public to participate in the programmes and make Vanasuma Jaycee Week-2026 a success.
